Your membership in NYC Metro RID exemplifies your involvement in the profession of interpreting and transliterating.

All voting members must be current members of RID.

National RID has directed all Affiliate Chapters
to make their fiscal year end on June 30 annually.

Metro's membership term currently runs from January 1, 2007 - June 30, 2008.
However, we're now offering a special promotion for members joining in early 2008.

Metro is an official testing site for the RID written and performance tests.

Metro RID Membership categories:

Certified Member:

  • An interpreter of American Sign Language and English or transliteration of English currently holding valid certification from RID
  • Voting privileges

Associate Member:

  • An individual who is actively engaged in the interpretation of American Sign Language and English and/or transliteration of English, but who does not hold valid certification from RID
  • Voting privileges

Student Member:

  • A non-certified individual currently enrolled in a course of study in interpretation of American Sign Language and English and/or the transliteration of English

Supporting Member:

  • An individual interested in supporting the goals, purposed and activities of NYC Metro RID

Member Organization:

  • Any organization, institution, agency or business with an interest in supporting the goals, purposes and activities of NYC Metro RID
